1 Understanding Token Issues
Tokens fund the scanning in a region — they do not switch your alerts on or off, and your subscription already covers everywhere we scan. So the two problems here are separate ones: alerts that are not arriving are almost always a Discord or filter problem, while alerts that arrive late or miss spawns are usually a question of how well the region is funded. This guide covers both.
Quick Diagnostic Checklist
2 Not Receiving Alerts
If you're not receiving any alerts despite having tokens allocated, work through these troubleshooting steps:
Verify Subscription Status
Go to your Subscriptions page and confirm your subscription is active. An expired or canceled subscription will stop all alerts.
Check Your Filters and Areas
What you receive is decided by your own filters and the areas you have picked, not by where your tokens sit. If nothing is arriving at all, this is the usual reason. See DM alert settings.
Verify Discord Connection
Alerts are sent via Discord DM. Ensure your Discord account is linked and you can receive DMs from our bot.
Review Alert Filters
Your alert filters may be too restrictive. Check your DM alert settings to ensure you haven't filtered out all Pokemon or set IV thresholds too high.
Check Region Health
If a region has poor health (yellow/red status), scanner coverage may be limited, resulting in fewer or no alerts.
3 Region Health Issues
Region health indicates the current scanning coverage quality. Understanding health status helps set realistic expectations for alert frequency.
Healthy (Green)
Full scanner coverage. Expect comprehensive alerts for all spawns, raids, and quests in the region.
100%+ HealthDegraded (Yellow)
Working but fragile. Most spawns will be detected, some coverage gaps possible.
85-99% HealthCritical (Orange)
Actively subsidized. Reduced coverage quality with notable gaps. Needs more token support.
70-84% HealthInactive (Red)
Minimal or no active scanning. Very few alerts will be generated. Consider allocating tokens to help improve coverage.
<70% HealthHow to Improve Region Health
- Allocate more tokens: Each token contributes to scanning capacity. More tokens = better coverage.
- Coordinate with community: Encourage other users in your area to allocate tokens to shared regions.
- Check during peak times: Health may fluctuate throughout the day. Evening and weekend coverage is often better.
- Monitor the health map: Use the Token Allocation page to track region health status over time.
4 Token Not Being Applied
If you've allocated tokens but they don't seem to be working, check these common issues:
Processing Delay
Token allocations may take up to 15 minutes to fully propagate through our system. Wait a bit and check again.
Subscription Expired
If your subscription lapses, token allocations are paused. Renew your subscription to reactivate them.
Region at Capacity
Some regions may have optimal token allocation. Additional tokens contribute to the buffer but may not immediately increase scan frequency.
Token Source Issue
Tokens from an expired add-on may no longer be valid. Check your token sources on the Token Management page.
5 Expired or Missing Tokens
Tokens come from various sources, each with different renewal rules:
Subscription Tokens
Included with your plan and renew automatically each billing cycle.
- Renew on subscription renewal date
- Lost if subscription is canceled
- New tokens issued each period, so they do not stack up
- Your regions do carry over — the new tokens arrive already on them
Token Pack Add-ons
Monthly add-on tokens that renew with your subscription.
- Renew monthly while add-on is active
- Stop renewing if add-on is canceled
- Can be added without base subscription
One-Time Purchase Tokens
Purchased separately without ongoing commitment.
- Valid for 30 days from purchase date
- Do not renew automatically
- Perfect for temporary needs or trying the service
6 Allocation Errors
Common errors when trying to allocate tokens and how to resolve them:
Solution: Move one from a region you have stopped playing, or add a token pack. Moving is free and takes effect immediately.
Solution: Try a different region or check back later. Contact support if the issue persists.
Solution: Use one of the current period's tokens. There is no cap on how many you can put in a single region.
7 Understanding Coverage Gaps
Even with tokens allocated, you may notice gaps in coverage. Here's why this happens and what you can do:
Geographic Distribution
Scanning coverage prioritizes areas with higher Pokemon spawn density. Rural or low-activity areas may have naturally lower coverage.
Time of Day
Coverage can vary throughout the day. Peak gaming hours (evenings, weekends) typically have better coverage as more users contribute tokens.
Scanner Rotation
Scanners rotate through areas within a region. A specific location may not be scanned continuously, but will be covered regularly.
Technical Limitations
Game updates or anti-cheat measures may temporarily affect scanning capabilities in certain areas.
