1 What Are Webhooks?
Webhooks allow you to send Pokemon Go alerts directly to channels in your own Discord server. Unlike DM alerts (personal), webhook alerts are visible to everyone in your community.

Community Add-On Required
Webhook functionality requires the Community Add-On subscription. This includes up to 5 webhook channels, with options to add more.

Before configuring alerts in PogoAlerts, you'll need to create webhooks in your Discord server.
Open Server Settings
In Discord, right-click on your server name and select "Server Settings" (requires Manage Webhooks permission).
Navigate to Integrations
In the left sidebar, click on "Integrations", then click "Create Webhook" or "View Webhooks".
Create New Webhook
Click "New Webhook" and configure the following:
- Name: Give it a descriptive name (e.g., "PogoAlerts Pokemon")
- Channel: Select the target channel for alerts
- Avatar: Optionally upload a custom icon
Copy Webhook URL
Click "Copy Webhook URL" - this is the unique URL you'll paste into PogoAlerts. Keep this URL private!

Once you have your webhook URLs, configure them in the PogoAlerts dashboard.
Access Discord Channels Page
Navigate to your Subscriptions page in your PogoAlerts dashboard.
Add New Channel
Click "Add Channel" and paste your webhook URL. Give the channel a friendly name for easy identification.
Configure Alert Types
Select which alert types should be sent to this channel:

Configure filters specific to this channel. Each channel can have its own IV thresholds, Pokemon lists, and criteria.

6 Testing Your Webhooks
Before going live, always test your webhook configuration to ensure everything works correctly.
Send Test Message
Use the "Send Test" button next to each configured webhook. This sends a sample alert to verify the connection.
Verify Channel Permissions
Ensure the webhook can post to the channel. Check that the channel isn't restricted or in slow mode.
Check Filter Logic
Wait for a real alert that matches your filters. Verify it appears in the correct channel with proper formatting.
7 Troubleshooting
Webhook not receiving any messages
- Verify the webhook URL is correct and not expired
- Check that the webhook hasn't been deleted in Discord
- Ensure your filters aren't too restrictive
- Confirm you have tokens allocated to generate alerts
Test message works but no real alerts
- Your filters may be filtering out all current spawns
- Region may have low activity - wait for more spawns
- Check that the correct alert types are enabled
"Invalid Webhook" error
- The webhook URL format is incorrect
- The webhook was deleted from Discord
- Try creating a new webhook and updating the URL
Messages appearing in wrong channel
- Each webhook URL is tied to a specific channel
- Create separate webhooks for each target channel
- Double-check which webhook URL is assigned to each config
Rate limited or messages delayed
- Discord has rate limits on webhooks
- High-volume alerts may experience slight delays
- Consider stricter filters to reduce message volume
8 Best Practices
Protect Webhook URLs
Never share webhook URLs publicly. Treat them like passwords - anyone with the URL can post to your channel.
Use Descriptive Names
Name webhooks clearly (e.g., "PogoAlerts-Hundos") so you can identify them easily in Discord settings.
Document Your Setup
Keep a record of which webhook goes to which channel and what filters are configured.
Monitor Volume
Keep an eye on alert frequency. Too many messages can overwhelm members and lead to notification fatigue.
