Managing Multiple Regions

Learn how to effectively manage coverage across multiple geographic regions for comprehensive Pokemon Go alerts.

1 Multi-Region Overview

PogoAlerts allows you to receive alerts from multiple geographic regions simultaneously. This is perfect for players who hunt in different areas or want broader coverage.

Broader Coverage

Monitor rare spawns across your entire metro area, not just one neighborhood

Flexible Hunting

Switch between regions based on where you're playing each day

Never Miss Hundos

Maximize your chances of catching perfect IV Pokemon wherever they spawn

Tokens fund, they do not unlock

Your subscription already covers alerts and the map everywhere we scan, so you do not need a token in a region to hear about it. What a token decides is which areas we can afford to keep scanning, and how often. Spread yours across the places you actually play.

2 Adding New Regions

Expand your coverage by adding new regions to your account. Here's how to find and activate new areas.

1

Browse Available Regions

Go to Token Allocation and click the Add Region button to see all available areas in your country or nearby.

2

Check Region Health

Look for regions with "Healthy" status indicated by a green icon. These have active data feeds and reliable alert delivery.

3

Review Coverage Area

Click on a region to see its coverage map. Ensure it covers the areas where you typically play.

4

Allocate Tokens

Assign a token to put your money behind that region's scanning. More tokens means more scanner time there, and a shorter gap between checks.

Pro Tip

Start with regions adjacent to your primary area. This creates contiguous coverage that's easier to monitor.

3 Token Allocation Strategies

How you distribute tokens across regions affects alert frequency and priority. Here are recommended allocation strategies.

Recommended

Hub & Spoke

Allocate most tokens to your primary region, fewer to secondary areas.

Primary Region
6 tokens
Secondary Region
3 tokens
Tertiary Region
1 token

Equal Distribution

Split tokens evenly when you hunt equally across all regions.

Region A
3 tokens
Region B
3 tokens
Region C
3 tokens
What more tokens actually buy

Scanner time, not queue position. A better funded region is scanned by more workers with less time between passes, so spawns are found sooner and fewer are missed. Your alerts are never held back or reordered because of where your tokens sit.

4 Switching Active Regions

Need to focus on one region temporarily? You can adjust your active regions without losing your setup.

Reallocate Tokens

Move tokens between regions to shift focus, as often as you like, at no cost. Taking a region to zero does not stop your alerts from it — it withdraws your share of what pays for scanning there, so the area gets thinner unless somebody else is funding it.

Avoid Frequent Changes

Constantly toggling regions can cause missed alerts during the transition. Each change takes a few minutes to fully propagate.

5 Multi-Region Strategies

Different playstyles benefit from different region configurations. Here are proven strategies from experienced players.

The Commuter

Covers home, work, and commute areas

  • 3-4 regions along your daily route
  • Heavy tokens on work area (daytime hunting)
  • Home region for evening/weekend

The Explorer

Maximum coverage across the metro area

  • 5+ regions with equal distribution
  • Focus on regions with rare spawn biomes
  • Willing to travel for perfect hundos

The Focused Hunter

Concentrated coverage in dense spawn areas

  • 1-2 regions maximum
  • All tokens in high-density areas
  • Faster response time to alerts

6 Common Issues

Not receiving alerts from a region

Check these items:

  • Verify at least 1 token is allocated to the region
  • Confirm the region toggle is enabled
  • Check region health status (may be degraded)
  • Review your filter settings - they may be too restrictive

Too many alerts from secondary regions

Solutions:

  • Reduce token allocation to those regions
  • Tighten filters for secondary regions (higher IV threshold)
  • Disable "common spawns" for non-primary regions

Can't add more regions

Possible reasons:

  • You've reached your plan's region limit - consider upgrading
  • No available tokens to allocate - purchase more tokens
  • Region may not be available in your subscription tier
